Girls Night In with Godiva Liqueurs
May 5, 2010 - Written by Diana
This past weekend was a big blur of family time. Two nephews, from different sisters had events going on this weekend. My husband and I wrangled my mother in law to stay with our teens (leave them alone, I think not), and drove 600 miles for a long weekend visit. Long days of driving, they were. Saturday while we were at my sister’s enjoying each other’s company, I brought out the Godiva Liqueurs I was sent to review. First off, I must tell you I was totally caught off guard because my mom who doesn’t like sweet stuff, enjoyed the white chocolate a lot. I mean, she tasted and sent the glass back for another taste, because it was that good. I confess, I didn’t bring the mocha, I wanted to share the mocha with my in laws. I thought chocolate and white chocolate for my family, mocha to share with the in-laws and caramel just for me. After eating, we picked up some ice cream and made our own desserts. My sister doesn’t own ice, so the ice cream worked as a milky …
Put a Zing in Your Holiday Party Season with Partida Tequila and Spice & Ice
December 9, 2009 - Written by DianaTequila is one of our favorite basics for our movie night cocktails. Recently we tried some Partida Tequila and we think it’s delicious (is that a good word for alcohol?). It really has a clean smooth taste, and has a waaarrrrmmmm in your belly, mmmmm.
Partida Tequila is made from blue agave that it gets from one place, it’s very own Partida Estate in the heart of Mexico’s historic Tequila region. Partida Estate is a family plantation who have been growing blue agave for several generation. The heart of the agave plant – la pina is baked slowly and gently for 20 hours, then distilled twice – not steam blasted. These agaves are used to create four tequilas: Blanco (not aged), Reposado (aged 6 months), Anejo (aged 18 months) and Extra Anejo Elegante (aged 36 months).Partida also has an Blue Agave Nectar they produce that is 100 percent made from blue agave plants and is organic. …

Pama Pomegranate Liqueur – mmmmm
December 16, 2008 - Written by Diana
Pama Pomegranate liqueur is the ultimate in alcoholic enjoyment. If you are hosting a party, or going to a party, this would be a really unique and delicious additive to your drinks. You can mix this in with other alcohol for a mixed drink or drink it over ice like I have recently. This delicious, delectable, delightful bottle of good stuff is just what you need to surprise everyone – unless of course, like me, you don’t want to share. My husband and I actually debated over whether or not to bring Pama to a party we went to. What we ended up bringing was another bottle of white wine, one we didn’t mind leaving behind. You see, we’re not sure we’re going to share it, we may just keep it hidden for our own enjoyment. That wouldn’t be fair though, no one else would get to experience this sweet, yet tart and sexy red liqueur in it’s lovely bottle. Yes, if I could send you all a sip, I would then you’d all be hooked. It …
360 Vodka – The Green Vodka in the Green Bottle
October 3, 2008 - Written by DianaMy husband is a vodka aficionado. When we were dating, he kept a bottle of Vodka in the freezer at all times. As we got older and the kids were teens we cut down on keeping vodka in the freezer. However, people who know my husband likes vodka have given him a bottle of vodka for cleaning up their hard drive. He doesn’t mind the trade at all. We have a bottle of 360 vodka, which doesn’t just make him happy, it makes me happy too.
360 Vodka uses 100 % locally grown grains form northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri. Every bit of it is utilized and nothing goes to waste. The beautiful green bottle is 85% recycled glass.
The packaging is chlorine free recycled paper and recycled materials with soy based ink.
That’s not all
They use carbon offsets.
They have a close the loop campaign where they donate 1.00 to an environmental organization for every returned bottle closure.
My husband thinks it’s a quality vodka – which would be the only reason to even look at it in the first place.

Cruzan Guava Rum, Piña Coladas and Cool Summer Drinks
July 10, 2008 - Written by DianaI have some summer drinks I want to share with you. They’re cool and refreshing and just what you need on a hot summer day.
1. Cruzan Guava Rum – I’ll post a few recipes, but you don’t really need it. Just put the Guava Rum over some ice and sip it. The alcohol content isn’t real strong, but the Guava is sweet and good. You feel like you are sitting on an island or maybe you just feel like you should be beachside. Be careful though, you may drink the whole bottle without noticing because it tastes divine.
