Dorm Cooking: Aunt Trudy’s Filo Pocket Sandwiches
Written by Deb Ng - August 7, 2008 0 Comments
Speaking of dorm cooking and microwaves…The Filo Factory has an interesting new line of foods perfect for dorms, after school snacks and lunches. Aunt Trudy’s Filo Pocket Sandwiches are hot sandwiches wrapped in filo dough. The crust is light and flaky and the inside is hearty, but good. We liked the Broccoli & Cheese, Spinach & Cheese, Pizza Pocket and Mexicali Vegetable best. Did I mention they’re certified organic?
Aunt Trudy’s Filo Pocket Sandwiches are easy to make – just pop them in the microwave and they’re ready in a couple of minutes. I also find they contain less calories and fat than competitors such as Hot Pockets. For instance the Mexicali Vegetable contains 220 calories with 8 grams of fat. A good lunch on the go for a busy student.
