By the way, I also made hummus for the first time this year and It's so much more delicious than the stuff found at the grocery store. My mother and her friend couldn't get enough of it. It's easy to make - and yes - not easy to find Tahini at the supermarket. (Hint: ethnic foods section where the Thai, Indian, Chinese and other Asian foods are stored.

Here are my new things:

1. Ate fish. (I didn't like it, but I've been eating it more).
2. Began experimenting more in the kitchen instead of sticking to the recipe.
3. Started my own food blog instead of adhering to the rules of someone else's.
4. Got my sister and some friends into blogging about food.

1. Blogging about food!
2. Gotten rid of all my aluminun pans and cook only with cast iron
3. Written down all my recipes
4. Going into the sauce business. Matrix sauce may be hitting the streets soon. Robin will be happy to hear it's the meatless version.
5. Writing product reviews

I'm so glad you tried the quinoa! Did you like it? I have it at least once a week and I'm sure I'll be using it in grain salads this summer. Homemade hummus is great! The hard part is finding tahini in the grocery store. ;-)

Let's see, this year I've...tried vegan baking, learned how to bake (cornbread so far) in a cast iron skillet, and made a dedicated effort to eat seasonal, organic produce. I've always loved the farmers' market but they close in the winters so that's been the hard part. And last, I stopped caring about proper foodie rules (such as making dressings from scratch and using dried beans), I just go by taste rather than concept. I'd rather spend time eating than cooking!
