Holiday Gift Guide: Give the Gift of Meat

Vegetarians hide your eyes, this post won’t be pretty. Today’s entry into the Cookerati Holiday Gift Guide is a carnivorous one, and you’re excused for the duration.
The past couple of weeks were good ones in the Ng home. Mr. N had a spring in his step and a whistle to his work. Why is the normally cranky Mr N so happy? In a word, meat.
You see, we had the opportunity to sample some meaty awesomeness, the results of which we’ll share here with you. If you’re looking for some suggestions for holiday gifts for the carnivores in your life, we have a couple of good ones for you here.
Bacon Freak - I don’t know what it is about bacon that incites passion in so many. Is it that it’s almost pure fat? Is it the salty, porky flavor that makes it a perfect compliment to eggs, burgers, salads and more? Is it the knowledge that after consuming a pound on a Sunday morning you’ll have enough cholestrol in your system to clog the arteries of an entire city block? All that and more, I think. In short, bacon is the perfect food.
When others heard I was doing a product review and holiday gift guide recommendation for Bacon Freak they turned green with envy. I won’t say I didn’t enjoy every minute of it, because I did. In fact, every time I savor a crispy, fatty strip of bacony goodness I send a greasy toast off in their direction. It doesn’t get bette than this folks.
The Ng family got to review a couple of Bacon Freak varieties including the regular bacon and the delightful and divine hickory smoked, honey barbecue rubbed variety. Mmm mmm. You’re going to have to buy your own to enjoy because we’re not sharing. We also received a couple of packages of bacon jerky. I’m not a jerky kind of girl, but Mr. N enjoyed munching on them while watching the speed channel. When I asked how they tasted he issued a thumbs up without turning away from the TV. That’s rather talkative for Mr. N. and we should take it as a compliment.
Bacon Freak meats are all prepared by hand. There’s no machinery just lots of loving from folks with a passion for pork.
Stop by Bacon Freak and check out the blog and the Bacon Freak store. They offer a variety of bacony gifts including bacon gift baskets. You really can’t go wrong here, folks. Bacon really is the perfect food.
What could be better than a gift of bacon. Nothing you say? Well true. But a good tie is Steak. Really good, premium steak. Which brings us to our next meaty offering.
Sterling Silver Premium Meats Ultimate Holiday Sampler - Oh yes. We got us one of these.
This is the part where I tell you how much I love my job.
Ladies, if you want to see your man’s eyes light up like a glittery ball in Times Square, check out the look on his face when he opens the styrofoam coller containing a variety of premium meats including:
- Filet mignons
- New York strips
- Rib eyes
- Boneless center-cut pork chops
- Pork tenderloin roasts
Oh heck yeah. Mr N. never needs an excuse to grill in inclement weather, but as soon as these puppies thawed he threw on the down parka and tossed a couple of filet mignons on the grill. What an awesome treat. The meat is tender and flavorful. Save for a bit of salt and pepper, any other seasoning would spoil the effect I think. No steak sauce or dry rubs, the meat has so much flavor it speaks for itself. Step away from A-1 folks, you won’t be needing it this time around. Flies on our wall would have heard lots of murmurs of delight and mmms with every bite as we savored our steaks.
And the pork! Nothing says lovin’ like pork roasting in the oven and there was a whole lot of loving going on her last week. Like the steak, the pork tenderloin is so flavorful no seasonings are necessary. The meat is so tender it melts in the mouth. Our six year not only asked for seconds, but didn’t want any ketchup for dipping. My only nitpick is that I don’t have anymore. A treat while eating, but a disappointment now that it’s gone.
Sterling Silver Premium Meats have a variety of holiday packages available retailing from $82 to $149.95. Plus anyone in the lower48 who gets an order in by December 19th is guaranteed delivery by the 25th. Convenient for last minute shoppers for sure.
Oh …and check back because we’re going to give away one of the Sterling Silver Premium Meats Ultimate Sampler here at Cookerati. No pushing in line and don’t trample the greeters. You’ll all get your turn to enter. Next week.

What a great gift basket idea. I would love to receive different types of steaks and chops. Everytime I cooked one, I would certainly have thankful thoughts for the sender!
Please help feed a hungry family of four. We need help and a microwave and some pasta sounds wonderful. I’ll take mine with sausage.
Nice…
