I know what I need to do, the problem is doing it. I like winging it too much I think. It's hard to make all the recipes I'd like when I don't have all the ingredients because I didn't plan.

I'd love to take some classes too this year. I've been trying to get the whole menu thing down for the last year or so. I'm doing better, but I still tend to wing it at the last minute way too often, then it throws off the whole thing. My problem is if I'm hungry for something, that's what I fix.

Once you get in the habit of making your menu it gets easier to remember. When I get the grocery ad each week I look to see what is on sale in the meat and produce department and pick at least some meals based on those sale items. Then fill in the rest. My family can only take so many new recipes per week - so I do about 50% new and 50% tried and true for them.

The North Market supports a lot of local farmers. I told my husband that we need to start getting local meat as we need it, instead of stockpiling. That goes along with making menus. One of those areas that needs help.

In 2010 I would like to explore the city even more and get a chance to learn more about local vendors. I also want to make more foodie friends! :D
