In Paris, France at the Hotel Concorde La Fayette, part of the collection of Concorde Hotels & Resorts, Chef Laurent Belijar was so intrigued with the campaign that he decided to create Presidential-themed burgers.
The Democratic side: The O-Burger is a tribute to Senator Barack Obama and his birth city of Honolulu, Hawaii, and consists of curried burger loaf with pineapple carpaccio and a mix of coriander-flavored shrimps.
The Republican side: The Elephant Burger, evoking John McCain’s party’s traditional mascot, is a homage to the senator’s adopted state of Arizona. Set in a tomato-flavored burger loaf with grilled lamb and guacamole, the southwestern theme is prevalent, especially since the burger is served with tomato salsa and nachos.
Baskin Robins Ice Cream has a vote too. Pick your favorite ice cream combination to vote for your candidate. They call it Flavor Debate ’08. Choose from Straight Talk Crunch and Whirl of Change.
