I love POM drinks, especially the new light POM tea. I’ve tried to eat pomegranate seeds, but I guess you have to be smarter than the fruit to figure out how to get them out of the pom without a disaster!

  • Diana

My husband mixes pom juice and 360 vodka for a nice evening drink. I guess my favorite way to have pomengrantate would be in a drink since I’ve never eaten one.

I’m pretty new to pomegranates but I do like them as is. I think it’s fun to get the seeds out BUT I don’t like that they stain so be sure to wear old clothes or an apron and don’t let the fruit juice get on the walls LOL

I will probably also try them on oatmeal one morning for breakfast. I can’t bring myself to buy a pom yet at $2.99 each so I’m just waiting and hoping for sales like last year.

Mmmm, I love pomegranate juice! Actually, I like a pomegranate/cranberry blend best, but that’s just because the flavors balance and compliment each other so well. But that’s not my favorite pomegranate treat. My favorite is a pomegranate bran muffin recipe that I made by adapting a basic bran muffin recipe (I put the link in the website section of the field- I don’t want to spam, but I do like to share). So yummy, and relatively healthy.

This contest is giving me definite ideas. I saw a huge box of pomegranates at the local grocery store last week, but just didn’t know what to do with them! Now I may need the whole box just to try things out!

I bought pomegranates as a unique treat for the kids when they were growing up. It was an adventure getting those little red jewels out of the fruit. When POM WONDERFUL came out with their juice and teas we HAD to try the products. They are great! (and a little less messy) I still buy the fruit when I find nice ones and it is now an adventure for my grandson.
By the way, the curvy POM WONDERFUL juice jar makes a great little flower vase.

pop in it some vodka and its yummy, make a spritzer….add it to gingerale for an updated shirley temple or add it anywhere like in a cheesecake recipe for a zip of flavor

I haven’t tried too many items with pomegranates in them but I do like the Blueberry Pomegranite juice that it out.

I like to make a BBQ sauce with it! Yum!

    Here’s the recipe:

Oven Roasted Pork Spareribs with Pomegranate Barbecue Sauce

1 1/2 pounds boneless pork spareribs
    1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard (or mustard based BBQ sauce in my case)
    2 tablespoons honey
    1/4 cup pomegranate juice

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, mustard, honey, and pomegranate juice. Place spareribs in a glass baking dish that has been prepared with non-stick cooking spray. Pour sauce over spareribs. Roast in preheated oven 1 hours.

    Yield: 4 servings

  • Theresa Shafer

I add it to my tea, water, and milk shake to give it a boost.

  • michael goff

I just like dipping the pomegranate into a bowl of water to easily remove the arils. Then I remove the unwanted pieces and add ice to the water to make the seeds nice and cold.

  • Amanda F

My husband and I enjoy POM Juice.

  • Danai

I remember as a kid eating poms by picking the berry / seed out one at a time. It ended up being a huge mess with juice splatters all over and stained fingers and clothes. Now I enjoy the Pom teas – they are sooooo good and refreshing. I do miss the cool glass bottle they came in though.

  • Christina

I’ve never had pomegranate, so I’d like to try some with a coupon! Let’s see…a second sentence is needed here…I suppose if you mix pomegranate juice with liquor, it would be pretty darn tasty!

  • BRIAN E.

My favorite way to use pomegranate is in a smoothie: I use about a cup of pomegranate juice, a half cup soy or low-fat milk, and a half cup of plain yoghurt. I add a banana, some strawberries, blueberries, etc., a scoop of protein powder, a little honey, and some ice cubes. After blending for 30 seconds I sometimes throw in a few tablespoons of “all bran” for some extra fiber…blend another 30 seconds and it’s done !!!

  • Alicia Webster

In a Shirley Temple or in a Roy Rodgers, because I believe that grenadine is made from pomegranates, or at least that is what the bottle said when I was a kid. Maybe that has changed—???

  • christopher h

i eat fresh pomegranates with my lunch. i often put seeds on my oatmeal in the morning, to give it a little kick.

  • Karli

I love putting together a salad that looks trendy and very “upscale,” but is so easy to make. Take a bag of mixed greens. Add fresh pomegranate seeds, a can of mandarin oranges (drained), a small handful of chopped walnuts, some chopped green onions and grilled chicken cut in slices (the ready-made in your grocer’s refrigerator section is easy and fast!). Toss all the ingredients lightly with a vinaigrette dressing and top with a “shake” of sesame seeds. Voila! – a colorful and delicious salad!

  • Meaghan F

I like mixing them with vanilla ice cream! Yum!

My favourite way to enjoy pomegranates is when they are in my mouth. Doesn’t matter how they get there, but my favourite way is a nice, fresh pomegranate nicely cut.

I would really like to try Pom but money has been so tight I’ve put off buying anything new.

  • Laura Emerson

I take cranberries and boil them but instead of using water I use Pomegranates. It makes the most delicious cranberry sauce for holidays or for everyday eating.

  • Anna Thomas

Freeze them and use as ice cubes in my drinks.

  • Teresa C

I’ve been eating pomegranates for years. I used to just stare at each seed and imagine it was the most beautiful jewel. My favorite way to enjoy pomegranates is still to just eat the seeds. I used to spit the little white seeds out, but now I just eat the whole thing. I also learned from Martha Stewart that removing the seeds is easier under running water or a bowl of water. The papery membrane slips off easier and there is less mess with the seeds popping.

I have tried POM and have adapted another trick from Martha. I use just a smidgeon in sparkling water, which I drink all the time anyway, and it tastes great and is better for you than any soda.

  • JRG

I’d like to try it, but it’s so expensive. I see it in the store and it looks very good!

  • Hetal G

I love pomegranates in Chiles en Nogada. That’s a traditional Mexican dish similar to chiles rellenos, but covered with a nut sauce sprinkled with promegranate seeds.

  • Robert Doscher

I like to mix POM juice, a little orancge juice, and a couple of ounces of vodka for a nice cocktail.

About a year ago, I saw a recipe on a website that called for pomegranate seeds mixed in a salad. It sounded like a kooky suggestion, but once I tried it…it was absolutely fantastic. My favorite salad is turkey with baby field greens, pomegranate seeds, candied pecans, red onion, tiny mozzarella cubes and just to kick things up a bit, pom/raspberry vinaigrette. It is wonderful!

  • veronica sandberg

    I love pomegranate juice

  • Savanda Hodge

Pomegranates are tedious to eat, but I remember the whole family sitting at the table tackling a chunk of pomegranate to get to the seeds! It was messy but fun!
