As mentioned above, we’re having our own contest here and we’re giving away free pomegranate juice or tea. To enter simply tell us your favorite way to enjoy pomegranates.  Keep in mind that we’re really hoping for some information here. Thus comments saying “Nice contest, thank you” are automatically disqualified. Moreover, terse one or two word answers are also disqualified. Answers must be at least two sentences long. so no  ”drink it” or “eat it” comment will be accepted.

Note from Diana:  See guys she “is” such a stickler for the rules.  Let see a sentence consists of a noun and a verb, punctuation and capitalization.  That’s too much, too much I tell you!

  • Angela J

I like the fresh fruit, picking at the seeds and all.

  • Kelly H.

I am in the early stages of my pregnancy and am more cautious of everything I put into my body. I love drinking POM as is but I love to heat it up and add cinnamon, freeze it for popsicles, use to make homemade jelly, and even heat it up to reduce it and use it to cook with as a sauce.

  • Carla Pullum

In the middle of my day when I start to feel drained!

  • Rebecca Peters

I love to eat the fruit..its messy and i love it!

  • PegiL

My family and I love POM on meat dishes

  • Julie K

I don’t drink alcohol, so I make an “adult” drink out of POM. I use POM juice, seltzer water, and a bit of sugar. It’s very good and more grown up looking than soda!

  • Deb

I would like to try it.

  • Elizabeth M.

We just like to eat them plain. We usually segment the pomegranate and then kind of pull the seeds out with our teeth. I’m sure there’s a better way but that’s what we do.

  • Jess

I love to eat pomegranate plain, but that is an activity best done outside with a bowl of water and a towel for cleaning up afterwards. I also love original POM, which my boyfriend compares to drinking rum in terms of strength. So maybe I should try POM with rum… ?

  • Becca

My favorite way to have pomegranates is straight from the shell. I am 40 years old and have been eating them since I was in junior high. It is an awful lot of work to get all those ruby gems out of the shell, but when you have a sweet ripe one, it is soooo worth it!

  • KristelH

My favorite way to enjoy pomegranates is to put POM juice in a martini! Yum!

  • Phillip Fry

    I love pomegranate juice!

  • DylanS782

I like POM juice, but I’ve never had the actual fruit. I want to try it but I’m not sure how to eat it!

  • http://thriftyjinxy.blogspot.com/ Chrysa

My favorite way to enjoy pomegranates is to make a big jug of iced green tea with pomegranate juice and lemon. YUM!

  • Jillian Veit

    I love the juice!

  • Lauren

I love the juice- its so good for you, lots of anti oxidants! I will admit that I like to eat them plain too- the seeds are so fun!

  • Auriette

I love the juice. Sometimes 100% Pomegranate juice is good, sometimes it’s bitter. When I get a bitter bottle, I mix it with some other 100% juice, preferably cherry juice, my favorite. I think I had the actual fruit once, a long time ago, but for me its easier to drink some juice with dinner than to eat the fruit.

  • Angie P

Pomegranate juice, vodka & diet 7-Up on the rocks makes a tasty drink. Mmmmmm!

  • Karissa

yum! I love the fruit and its fun to eat but stains your hands! the juice itself is a little tart but mixed with blueberry juice or something else is REALLY good!

thanks so much for the chance!

  • Leslie

    juice

  • Samantha Pruitt

Pomegranates are quickly becoming my favorite fruit! i love just eating straight from the fruit, i’m getting really good at picking them apart and eating them seeds and all (they make theme extra crunchy!), they have to be the hardest fruit to eat! But it’s oh so worth it! I want to start putting pomegranate in my salads i bet that would be soooo good!

  • Trisha

    I make POM-Martinis!

  • Cynthya

I love eating them fresh. My husband puts salt on the seeds, which I think is weird. :) I also like pomegranate juice and pomegranate tea.

  • Virginia

I love them straight from the fruit! I eat them slowly, one at a time so I can savor the flavor. My teen thinks I’m crazy, but I’m trying to teach him to savor the good things, because they are often gone far too quiclky.

  • Ashley

    i like them in smoothies

  • Christie

I like to mix POM juice with some Sierra Mist soda. Fizzes it up!

  • SS

I use pomegranate juice to make light sweet n’ tangy salad dressing. Mix with balsamic vinegar, extra virgin oil, Dijon-style mustard, grated onion, honey, salt and pepper. My whole family loves it!

    1 medium fresh pork roast
    Olive oil
1 1/2 bottle of your favorite BBQ Sauce (I prefer Cattlemans)
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder to taste
    1 fresh Pomegranate

In a slow cooker on high just cover the bottom of the slow cooker with olive oil. Once hot place pork in and after 1/2 hour turn, after another 1/2 hour turn again, adding salt, pepper, and garlic powder. After 4 additional hours lower to medium, remove pork and shred the meat.
Return the meat to the cooker and add the 1 1/2 bottles of BBQ sauce and the juice of the pomegranate. Let cook at least another hour. Serve with or over Garlic toast.
