Written by Diana - October 6, 2009 133 Comments

STAR_EnterContestLogo Star is running a Flavors of the Mediterranean Recipe Contest. They want us to see that replacing our butter in our recipes with Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a healthier choice. I received some Star Extra Virgin Olive Oil to use in my recipes in place of butter and last night I made some Dijon Cod using EVOO instead of butter to make the sauce, which worked out really well.

StarEVOliveOils17oz To promote their contest Star is sponsoring a giveaway a week for the next 4 weeks on Cookerati.  The prize is a complimentary gift pack from STAR® Fine Foods which includes a 17 oz. bottle of STAR® Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a “Taste of the Mediterranean” recipe book.

This is kind of cheating because we already do these things. We use olive oil on steamed vegetables, on home backed bread (add oregano) and for sauted foods.
