Bob’s Red Mill Team WON the Golden Spurtle Competition – Congrats to the first U.S. entrant and winner to the contest in Scotland. You guys Rock! American Matthew Cox has wrested the coveted Golden Spurtle trophy away from the Scots and claimed the title World Porridge Making Champion. A Scottish kitchen tool dating back to the 15th century, a spurtle is a rod-like stirring stick that is traditionally used to prevent porridge from becoming lumpy. Expanding on its Oregon theme, Bob’s Red Mill competed with its own custom “Myrtle Spurtle” made from Oregon myrtle wood.
The 21st Annual Kosherfest Food and Beverage Trade show will be at the Meadowland Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ October 27-28th. If you look at the exhibitors list you’ll find fish, wine, nut butters even vegetarian. Kosherfest has a new products competition as well as a culinary competition. Looks like a well rounded Kosherfest.
