Using Guacamole as a Condiment

acacado

The other day after I reviewed Wholly Guacamole, a commentator named Robert suggested I use it as a sandwich spread. I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me before. I love to top my burgers with guacamole instead of ketchup or cheese, why not a sandwich?

I’m here to tell you guacamole is now my favorite condiment. In addition to topping burgers, guacamole is heaven when spread on a sandwich including fresh turkey or chicken, some tomato and even a little pepperjack cheese. I’m not much of a mayonnaise person and I’m not a big fan of mustard with chicken or turkey. From now on it’s guacamole every time.

Oh, yes. Turkey and Swiss with guacamole is one of my favorites from way back!

I’ve been a huge avocado fan for years. Another idea for you is to use avocado to make tuna or chicken salad instead of mayo (or at least, cut down on the mayo). It’s delicious and creamy and a lot better for you than just mayo! Oh, and you can blend half an avocado into your favorite vinaigrette to make it creamier. OK, now I’m hungry! ;)

Guacamole is a great way to jazz up sandwiches instead of using mayonnaise! Another option you may want to try is using prepared dips from your grocer’s deli, like Santa Barbara Bay Caramelized Onion and Roasted Garlic Dip, which can add a lot of flavor to any sandwich. You can find more information and some delicious sandwich ideas at http://www.santabarbarabay.com/Recipes.cfm?s=0&c=5&p=0.
