What I’m Digging and Giving Away: Hansen’s Natural Sparkling Sleek Sodas
Written by Deb - April 12, 2008 178 CommentsI wouldn’t tell you I’m digging a product if it isn’t true. Sometimes though, a product comes along that I enjoy so much I don’t know if "What I’m Digging" is enthusiastic enough. When I tell you I’m truly digging Hansen’s Natural Sparkling Sleek Sodas, take my word for it, this is good stuff.
Hansen’s Sparkling Sleek Sodas are made from sparkling water and natural fruit juice flavors. It’s very light and refreshing without being overly sweet and syrupy. In fact, it’s sweetened with pure cane sugar and there’s no high fructose stuff or chemicals or words you can’t pronounce – except maybe pomegranate. I’m always having trouble with that word.
The flavors are unique as well: Blueberry Pomegranate, Cranberry Grapefruit, Dragonfruit and Valencia Orange. Oh and the best part? 90 Calories, baby! And if carbs aren’t you’re thing, you can get a sugar free version.
This is a light, sophisticated and refreshing beverage. Check out the video review and then read on to see how you can win a four pack of Hansen’s Natural Sparkling Sleek:
So you’d like to try Hansen’s Natural Sparkling Sleek? Here’s your chance! Three winners will each receive a four pack of this wonderful, refreshing beverage. As usual I’m making you work for it. In the comments tell us your favorite refreshing summer beverage. Extra points for recipes we can post later on. We’ll pick three winners at random on Monday, March 21st.
Good luck and do look out for Hansen’s Sparkling Sleek Sodas at your local beverage center.

I am an Arnold Palmer man.
If you don’t know what that is, it’s a beverage named after the great golfer, because it was his favorite drink on the course. It’s half lemonade [the yellow kind] and half unsweetened ice tea over a ton of ice.

Mississippi Sweet Tea – Makes 2 – 1 gallon pitchers.
1. Fill 1 pitcher to the fill line with tap or filtered water, then pour it into a large pot and turn the heat to
a med-high flame.
2. Add 4-6 Lipton or Tetley family sized tea bags to the water, then let them boil, stirring occasionally.
3. When the bags are rolling in the pot or 10 minutes of rapid boil is complete. Turn off the flames.
4. Remove the used tea bags and gently squeeze them out and discard.
5. Add 1-2 cups of sugar (try your favorite brand) to the concentrated tea and stir until dissolved.
6. Let the tea cool enough to allow pouring the sweet tea concentrate from pot to the pitcher.
7. Over the sink fill each pitcher to the halfway point with the sweet tea concentrate.
8. Fill the rest of the pitcher to the full point with cold water (1-2 cups of ice speed cooling).
9. Refrigerate until cold.
10. Add mint or other flavors additives to suit your mood – A few sprinkles of flavored water additives
(Crystal Light, Wylers, or store brand), fruit juice, and flavored green teas drops add dimension to
your sweet tea. This sweet tea makes a great base for Wild Teas!

2 (6-ounce) cans frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 (6-ounce) cans frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 (48-ounce) can pineapple juice
3 cups water
3 cups sugar
2 pints strawberries, hulled
1 (1-liter) bottle lemon-lime soda (recommended: Sprite)
Combine the orange juice, lemonade, and pineapple juice and stir well.
Bring 3 cups water and the sugar to a boil in a heavy saucepan and boil until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Let cool. Add the syrup to the fruit juices.
Place the whole strawberries into a ring mold. Pour in enough fruit juice to fill the mold. Freeze. Refrigerate the remaining juice.
When ready to serve, pour the fruit juice into a punch bowl and add the soda. Float the strawberry ice ring in the punch.

Strawberry Lemonade is our favorite in the summer.
3 squeezed lemons
1.5 cups of sugar
7 cups of strawberries
2-3 cups of water to taste
Dissolve sugar in 2 cups of hot water and cool. Puree Strawberries in food processor and add sugar mixture, lemon juice and add extra water to get to the taste you desire.
Optional: You can eliminate the lemon juice and freeze the remaining ingredients into ice pops for the kids.
