What my husband’s diggin’ - Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds
By: DianaIn Healthy Snack on July 2nd, 2008
I got this gem of a snack the other day. It came in a container that you could toss in a bag or a pack or sit in a cup holder of the car without worry that it would end up dumped all over. The almonds were toasted and had a baked on chocolate flavor. I thought they would be powdery and stick to your fingers, but they weren’t. My husband who is a nut aficionado, tasted a few and a few more and a few more. He really loved them, as did my daughter. The baked chocolate coating doesn’t add any calories to the almonds like a dipped chocolate coating would.
Almonds are a very healthy snack for you.
Here are some possible almond benefits:
- A good source of Calcium and vitamin E
- Make you feel full faster so you eat less (tell that to my husband).
- May help lower LDL cholesterol
- May help prevent cancer
- Anti-inflammatory, and Immunity boosting
The lid of the canister holds enough for a 150 calorie serving. That’s 1.5 oz, the recommended daily amount for heart health. I wonder if it carries over if you eat more? My husband ate more than his daily amount, but I’m sure he’ll be glad to know there’s a recommended daily amount. It gives him an excuse to run out to the store to pick up more. Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds . Their website is cute too. It deserves a look just to see what Robert Goulet does to the office when people have low afternoon energy because they didn’t eat their almonds.

I’ve had them before - they’re very good. I’m not a huge fan of almonds, though I love nuts. But the chocolate gives them an extra something - and yes, it’s not overly fattening and the chocolate flavor doesn’t take away from the nuts.
