What’s a Gardener to Do?

I love my dill, but so does the catterpillar.  I wouldn’t have a problem disposing of it, if it was a cabbage worm, or a tomato hornworm.  Unfortunately, I know this will grow in to a Swallowtail Butterfly.  I love butterflies too.  What’s a gardener to do?  The branches of my dill are broken or bent, probably because of the catterpillars I found munching away on my dill, one of my favorite herbs.  They love fennel also.

So I went online, and it said, place it on parsley or carrot tops or Queen Anne’s Lace.  I have plenty of that and I’m willing to give it all to the catterpillars.  So I broke off the branches they were on, walked to the back of the property, the part we never mow, and placed the catterpillars there.  I hope they’ll be okay.
